International Film Series: My Sassy Girl (South Korean, 2001)
April 3, Thursday, 5:00- 7:15 p.m., Bozarth Hall, Room 49

In this quirky romantic comedy, poor Kyun Woo finds himself entangled in a romantic relationship with a charming, but forceful, young woman. Their relationship evolves through a series of slapstick and touching events. <+>My Sassy Girl<+> is the all-time most popular comedy in Korea.



Asian Extravaganza

April 4, Friday, 7:00 p.m., Boyd Recital Hall, Wilson Hall
This program by Asian performers, many of them appearing at Rowan for the first time, will feature traditional Chinese songs, dances, and instrumental performances, the Peking Opera, Filipino and Indian dances, and much more. Admission is free and open to both the Rowan and local communities.
Refreshments will be served.



Daoism and Health: the Impact of Philosophy on Your Body

Professor Aiguo Han of the Department of Composition and Rhetoric is a disciple of a highly acclaimed Daoist Master and an accomplished T'ai-chi practitioner. In this talk, he will share his knowledge of the Daoist wisdom on human health with the audience.



Trip to Philadelphia Art Museum and Chinatown for a <+>Dim Sum<+> Lunch

Visit to the Art Museum to enjoy its world-famous exhibits, and then join us to experience the special culture of <+>Dim Sum<+> in a Chinese restaurant. The Rowan bus will depart from the Student Center at 10:00 a.m., <+>Dim Sum<+> lunch at 1:00 p.m. Cost: Only $3.00 for transportation to Philadelphia and lunch. The Art Museum has a <+>free admission - donation optional<+> policy on Sundays. Tickets will be available at Student Center Information Desk March 28 to April 4. Limited to 50 seats.



A Taste of Indian Culture

Race, Identity, and History in East Asia

In contrast to the conventional belief in the homogeneousness of East Asian societies, awareness of racial and ethnic differences is strong in China, Japan, and Korea. Professor Edward Wang, Department of History, will present his studies on the topic.



Indian Chai and Hena Table
April 17, Thursday, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Outside Student Center Pit

Come and enjoy the unique cultural experience while learning about Indian social customs from our Indian students. Ladies can have their hands painted in traditional henna designs and try on a sari and bindi, and everyone can enjoy a cup of chai.



Asian Cultural Association Recognition Dinner in Chinatown
April 17, Thursday, 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

The dinner will recognize outstanding Asian and Asian-American students and will also honor the recipients of the Charles W. Fu Scholarship in Asian Studies. Guests will enjoy a traditional, multi-course Chinese Spring Festival dinner and learn about Chinese New Year traditions. The Rowan bus will depart from the Student Center at 6:30 p.m. This free event is open by invitation only. A limited number of free seats will also be available to members of the Rowan Community. Asian Women in America-Stereotypes, Prejudices, and Experiences

This forum will feature a group of female Asian students who will share their experiences of living and studying in the U.S. and also discuss and reflect on the stereotypes and prejudices Asian women are often subjected to.

Join members of the Asian Cultural Association in an exciting, student-organized event that celebrates Asian cultural heritage through music, dance, food, and other activities.



Buddhism and Human Rights
April 29, Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m., Student Center, Room 221C
Professor Frank Hoffman, a Buddhist scholar with the Department of Philosophy, West Chester University, will share his insights into the issue of human rights in light of his study of Buddhism.
