Rowan University To Induct First Class Into National Golden Key Honor Society

Approximately 400 Rowan University juniors and seniors will be the first Rowan University inductees into the Golden Key National Honor Society on April 10, 2001 at 6 p.m.in Rowan University?s Student Center Ballroom.
All members of the Rowan University Chapter are part of the university?s top 15 percent of juniors and seniors. All members have expressed a commitment to the pursuit of academic achievement and campus and community services. The Rowan Chapter has begun planning events such as bringing scholarly speakers to campus, beginning a mentoring program with all incoming freshmen honor students and attending international and regional conferences across the United States.
As Lawrence Lhulier, student president of Rowan University?s Golden Key chapter said, <+>Bringing this organization to campus should be regarded as yet another huge step for the University in its quest to be regarded as one this nation?s premier institutions of higher education.<+>
Congressman Frank LoBiondo, Rowan University President Donald Farish, Rowan University Associate Provost Christy Faison, Dr. Virginia Brown and Vice President of Student Affairs Drew Calendrella will receive honorary memberships into the organization.
The mission of Golden Key International Honor Society, a nonprofit academic honors organization, is to recognize and encourage scholastic achievement and excellence in all undergraduate fields of study, to unite with faculty and administrators in developing and maintaining high standards of education, to provide economic assistance to outstanding members by means of both undergraduate and graduate scholarships and to promote altruistic conduct through voluntary service.
