Kappa Sigma Fraternity’s excellent chapter relations for the 1999-2000
academic year earned them recognition at the Fraternity’s Leadership
Conference Program held at The University of Delaware this past
summer.


Kappa Sigma earned the following academic Fraternity awards: Above All
Men’s Average, Fall 99; Above All Men’s Average, Spring 99; Above All
Fraternity, Fall 99 and Above All Fraternity, Spring 99.


The Leadership Conference recognizes outstanding achievements by the
fraternity’s undergraduate chapters, undergraduate leaders and alumni.


Kappa Sigma’s presence on Rowan’s campus can’t be easily missed. They
have won the President’s Cup, Greek Week and the Homecoming
competitions four out of the past five years. Kappa Sigma President Paul
Terruso views the fraternity members as students 'who can lead the
Rowan community in the right direction.'


In November, Kappa Sigma will sponsor a flag football tournament to raise
funds for the Michael Frese Memorial Fund and the Leukemia Society.
Kappa Sigma will also be co-sponsoring Miss Rowan University with Delta
Sigma Theta in March.


The Rowan University chapter of Kappa Sigma was founded on April 13,
1991, and currently has 40 active members.


The Kappa Sigma Fraternity is the nation’s fourth largest college
fraternity with chapters on 207 college and university campuses
throughout North America. Kappa Sigma has initiated over 200,000
members. The Fraternity was founded at the University of Virginia on
December 10, 1869.
