Rowan University once again is a sponsor for and the official New Jersey hub of the Philadelphia Science Festival, which kicks off its ninth year on April 26 and runs through May 4. The Franklin Institute and more than 200 partners from the region's leading educational, cultural and scientific institutions join forces to educate, inspire and excite the Delaware Valley about the science and technology present in visitors’ everyday lives. This annual festival is an innovative nine-day celebration of science hosted by the region’s most influential institutions, museums and cultural centers.
Ørsted U.S. Offshore Wind on March 27 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Rowan University that will allow the company to support innovative offshore wind engineering clinics for students and collaborate with them on research opportunities. The MOU was signed at Rowan’s annual Faculty Research Day, which showcases and honors outstanding research, scholarship and creative activity at the University’s three campuses.

The U.S. Navy joined more than 40 middle and high school teams from across New Jersey for a day of underwater robotics during the 7th Annual NJ Regional SeaPerch competition at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey on March 9. SeaPerch, a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program coordinated by the Office of Naval Research, challenges students to construct and compete an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle, more commonly known as a robot.

The web site Learn.Org this week ranked Rowan #30 out of the 50 top public schools in the U.S., one place ahead of Ohio University and one place behind Oklahoma State University. The site notes that Rowan is one of just three universities in the U.S. that offer both M.D. and D.O. medical degree programs “making it a world-class destination for students who want to get into the medical field.”
