Rowan University hosts second annual Faculty Research Day

Showcases dozens of projects in medicine, the environment, the arts and more

One Hundred faculty members and 18 research partners will be featured at Rowan University as it hosts its second annual Faculty Research Day on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., in the Eynon Ballroom and Room 221, Chamberlain Student Center, on the main campus, Rt. 322 in Glassboro.

The event celebrates outstanding research, scholarship and creative activity by faculty from all Rowan campuses, all colleges and schools that comprise Rowan, and dozens of disciplines -- from medicine to engineering to computer science to writing arts to performing arts.

Faculty Research Day highlights Rowan's research accomplishments and collaboration opportunities for faculty, external partners, industry representatives and the broader community. The event includes a research showcase; awards presentations; and keynote addresses by BioNJ President and CEO Debbie Hart and New Jersey State Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker, head of communications and public outreach at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory.

Research partners include Rutgers, Princeton and Drexel universities and the University of Delaware; the Coriell Institute for Scientific Research; Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (U.S. Department of Energy); National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; and the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center, as well as Rowan internal partners.

Presented by the South Jersey Technology Park, Faculty Research Day is sponsored by Elsevier, Inspira Health Network, Ørsted, Saul Ewing, Fisher Broyles and TreMonti Consulting.

The day will include an Ørsted/Ocean Wind LLC-Rowan signing ceremony at 2:15 p.m., marking an agreement between the Denmark-based power company and its Massachusetts-based affiliate and the University to collaborate on research on offshore wind-generation facilities.

Shuttles will run from the South Jersey Technology Park to the Chamberlain Student Center from 7:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Campus parking lots are open to employees and students with the appropriate decal for each lot.
