The rankings, summarized by the online news agency Return on Information (ROI-NJ), include a study of 357 schools nationwide offering online bachelor’s degrees.

Among them, Berkeley College offered the top-rated online bachelor’s degree program in New Jersey, Rutgers University-Camden was ranked second and Rowan’s online offerings were ranked third.

Formerly considered by U.S. News a perennially top Regional University, Rowan in 2017 was reclassified by the magazine a National University, a more competitive and prestigious designation whose change reflected Rowan’s recently gained status as a Carnegie doctoral-level research university.

For online programming, the magazine ranked Rowan #237 nationwide in the Best Bachelor’s Degree category. It also ranked Rowan #164 (tied) for Best Online MBA Programs, #165 (tied) for Best Online Graduate Education Programs and among the Best Online Graduate Engineering Programs and Best Online Graduate Criminal Justice Programs.
