EduAdventures returns to Rowan’s campus for summer 2017

Registration is open for the second annual Camp EduAdventures, a summer program for area children presented by Rowan University’s College of Education.

Youngsters will get a little taste of life on campus during the four-week program designed for children entering grades 1-6 in September of 2017. Families that register before March 15 receive a 10 percent discount.

During Camp EduAdventures, campers will take part in hands-on activities designed to incorporate learning in an upbeat and experimental fashion. Campers’ activities include science, mathematics, technology, art, music, literacy, creative writing, health and physical education, community building, and games.

The 2017 camp dates and themes are:

August 7 – 11:  “Traveling Through Time”

August 14 – 18: “Around the World in Five Days”

August 21 – 25: “Animals, their Habitats, and Our Earth”

August 28 – Sept.  1: “Adventures and Inquiries in Science”

Camp runs from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Campers are dropped off in front of James Hall on the Glassboro campus.

Rowan College of Education staff as well as upper-level education majors lead campers through daily activities, including literacy activities, free play, lunch, on-campus field trips to the Edelman Planetarium, Rowan Art Gallery and more, as well as other field trips fitting the theme of the week.

Registration is $250 per week. A $40 registration fee per child also applies. All fees include weekly field trips, a camp T-shirt, and a pizza lunch on Fridays. After care is also available from 4–5 p.m. for $50 per week and is billed separately.
