Rowan Radio, 89.7 WGLS-FM, the radio station of Rowan University, has been named a finalist in two categories in the 2003 national College Broadcasters, Inc. competition: best on-air DJ and best radio documentary for the station?s production ?Are You There America? It?s Me God.?

Bill Pavlou, of Aberdeen, is the DJ finalist for his for program ?The Last Stop.? The Sunday night program focuses on the Dave Matthews Band.

A five-part documentary series, ?Are You There America? It?s Me, God? looked at the changing face of religion in American society and the role that religion plays in people?s everyday lives. The series examined how attitudes towards religion have changed over the years, the portrayal of God and religion in the media, how religion has manifested itself in aspects of Americans? everyday lives, and the circumstances that cause individuals to change their religious beliefs. The piece also investigated the different attitudes towards religion within different age groups of a family.

The annual CBI National Student Production Awards contest ceremony will be held at the November National College Media Convention in Dallas. The winners will be announced and each finalist will be recognized at the awards ceremony.
