Glassboro–The South Jersey Mechanical Contractors Association awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Sarah Hart, a Rowan University mechanical engineering graduate student from Tabernacle.

Hart was awarded the scholarship in recognition of her undergraduate academic accomplishments as well as her desire to remain in Southern New Jersey after completing her master's degree.

Connors, executive director of the South Jersey Mechanical Contractors Association. <+>Keeping the region's young talent home is crucial to the growth of our industry and region.<+>

Hart graduated in May as a member of Rowan's first class of engineers. She was a four-year starter on Rowan's lacrosse team. In her senior year, she was awarded the Mechanical Engineering Medallion Award in recognition of her character and demonstrated leadership.

The South Jersey Mechanical Contractors Association promotes the Heating, Ventilating, Plumbing and Air Conditioning industry. This is the first year the 70 member association awarded this scholarship.
