GLASSBORO- Rowan University's Management Institute is offering the following training and
professional development courses:

Leadership Through Listening: Managing Change and Increasing Performance is a one-day program that
explores the art of receptive listening, how to maximize talents and match them to a company's needs, set
clearly defined life and career goals, and balance personal work style through planning and effective
managing. The program is offered Tuesday, March 2 or Tuesday, April 13, at the Mansion in Voorhees.
Cost is $205 for Management Institute members and $225 for non-members.

Contingency Planning for the Year 2000: Your Business Depends on It is a one-day program is designed to
increase awareness of the millennium bug as a business issue, not just a technical issue. Participants will
learn how an aggressively managed Y2K issue can turn into a significant competitive advantage. The
program is offered Tuesday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Linden Hall on the Rowan University
campus. Cost is $275 for Management Institute members and $295 for non-members.

Maintenance Management for Building and Facilities, a two-day program designed for the maintenance
professional, will look at custodial requirements, contributions to asset preservation and cost control,
preventive maintenance schedules, computerization and handling facilities from small apartments to shopping
malls and office buildings.

The program, part of the Certificate in Maintenance Management, will be held Tuesday, March 9 and
Wednesday, March 10, from 9 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m. at the Atrium Executive Center in Mt. Laurel. Cost is
$675 for Management Institute members and $695 for non-members.

Essentials of Human Resources will focus on the rapidly changing role of the human resource department
and critical factors necessary to success. The six-week course covers legal issues and regulatory trends,
orientation, employee benefit and compensation plans, how to develop action plans for success and maintain
a positive employee climate. The classes will be held Tuesdays, March 9 through April 13, from 7-9 p.m. in
the Linden Training Room on the Rowan University campus. Cost is $365 for Management Institute
members and $395 for non-members.

Windows <+>Work Station<+> is a five-session introduction to Windows '95 with training in Microsoft Word,
Access, Excel and Power Point. A special business application session is included. The programs will be
held March 15-18 from 6:15-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 20 from 9:15 a.m. to noon. Cost is $319 and
includes materials and computer use.

Hands-on Computer Training clinics are for beginner, intermediate and professional computer users. Classes
in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visual Basic, Windows '95 and the Web are held during
the months of March, April and May in the computer lab at Bunce Hall on the Rowan University campus.
Cost per class is $189 for Management Institute members and $199 for non-members.
