School notes

Rowan University has been named the New Jersey Clean Energy School of the Year by the Clean Energy Office of the state Board of Utilities. The honor recognizes Rowan's efforts at promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy, including the fact that it purchases 25 percent of its electricity from wind-power sources.

Other awards the school has received this year include a third place in waste minimization from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the EPA's Green Power Partnership Award for its use of wind-generated energy, and the New Jersey Clean Energy Award.
