Butterscotch - the retro-futuristic, voice percussionist virtuosa and a force to be reckoned with in today’s music scene - comes to campus as part of the College of Performing Arts Marie Rader Presenting Series. Tickets are $20 (general admission) and $10 (non-Rowan students). Rowan students are FREE with valid ID.

A powerful blend of jazz, soul, hip hop, and R&B, Butterscotch has rocked stages worldwide. Her music always contains a message to reach those who are in need of love and inspiration, and addresses mental health issues because of her own experiences and because she knows that music harnesses the power to save lives.

Beginning her career in hip hop's underground beatbox battle scene, Butterscotch ultimately entered the spotlight by winning the first World Hip Hop Beatbox Women's Championship in 2005 and then the West Coast Champion title in 2007 (beating 18 men). Another breakthrough came thanks to the television series America's Got Talent in 2007, introducing her to the broader world when she reached the final four of that season. The exposure gained her thousands of fans and kickstarted a career that continues to this day.

The Marie F. Rader Fund supports expanded performing arts programming that further educates and enriches the university community and beyond.
