ALMOST, MAINE by John Cariani presents a series of brief vignettes in which ordinary people experience magical, unexpected moments of romance, self-discovery, and emotional connection during a particularly vibrant display of the natural phenomenon of “the Northern Lights.” As the playwright notes in his published version of the script, “Almost Maine is a play about people who are normally very grounded but who have become very excited by love…and other extraordinary occurrences.” The Rowan production promises a unique, personal, and heartwarming approach to this already vibrant and popular play.
