A message from President Houshmand: Few things energize me more than the first week of a new academic year. Everywhere you turn, there are excited students on the move, full of anticipation about the opportunities ahead. After a busy summer, I am pleased to share that the momentum we have enjoyed over the past few years continues.

Rowan University’s athletic teams are looking to build off last year’s success this fall, with seven sports gearing up for strong campaigns to open the 2026-27 season of competition.

John Zabinski, vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the Rowan University Foundation, plans to retire from Rowan University on October 1.

Flash flooding across the region has closed multiple area roads and has impacted the Glassboro campus. Several campus buildings have also taken on water.

Marking the start of their doctoral education, 90 aspiring veterinary students received their stethoscopes on Aug. 27 and were celebrated by Rowan University administrators, Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine faculty and staff, current students and loved ones.
