By Jonathan Lai, Inquirer Staff Writer. As classes began this week, Rowan University welcomed its largest, most diverse freshman class, with the highest-ever grades and test scores.

Part pep rally and part academic ceremony, the President’s Welcome and Picnic gave the more than 2,200 members of the Class of 2018 a warm welcome to Rowan University and its traditions.

Transitioning from high school to college can be stressful for incoming freshmen. After all, it’s a major milestone and comes with lots of changes for students and families alike.

The responsibility of being a Rowan University resident assistant (RA) is enormous. Gian Connor calls it a privilege. “RAs have the opportunity to make a positive impact the transition of new students.”
Besides incoming members of the new freshman class, the Rowan University students most excited for the start of the new school year might just be members of the Profs fall sports teams.
From the moment they walk onto campus, the more than 2,400 members of the largest freshman class in Rowan University history will hit the ground running. That’s by design.
