Rowan comedy looks at “Love” in a big way

If you’re a proud member of the Rowan University family -- or you are looking to learn more about the University -- Glassboro is the place to be through Oct. 23 as Rowan celebrates Homecoming & Family Weekend 2011.

Rowan University Vice President of Facilities and Operations Mike Harris was the top money raiser in Gloucester County’s Dancing with the Stars, earning $43,766 for the Rowan Emergency Scholarship Fund. The Fund assists students who are experiencing life-altering crises in their families. (For a look at Mike on the dance floor and to hear a message from him, go to http://youtu.be/ZSVXGsCLOCw.)

Mike Harris is a popular guy at Rowan University, so popular, in fact, that the school named a whole week after him.

The Rowan University Board of Trustees has elected attorney James J. Gruccio Sr., of Vineland, as chairman.

For the 12th consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Rowan University among the best institutions of higher learning in the nation.

Rowan University students will rub elbows--and talk up the U.S. Constitution--with George Washington and Alexander Hamilton on Wednesday, Sept. 14, as actors portraying the founding fathers come to campus for a special Constitution Day celebration.

Rowan University will host a series of activities for incoming 1,400-plus freshmen during the week of Sept. 4, both at Rowan University, 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro, N.J. and off campus.

Approximately 1,400 freshmen are expected to move into eight residence halls and five apartments on Saturday, Sept. 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rowan University, 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro, N.J.
