Members of Rowan’s Student University Programmers (SUP) and Student Government Association (SGA) are teaming up to raise money for the Progeria Research Foundation during the University’s annual Holiday Helper Auction on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. in the Pit of the Chamberlain Student Center.

Rebecca Skloot, author of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, will present a lecture and lead a discussion on the many moral and ethical issues raised in her New York Times bestselling book on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m., in the Eynon Ballroom of the Chamberlain Student Center at Rowan University, 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro, N.J.

Rowan University, Glassboro, N.J., has commissioned renowned artist Zenos Frudakis to create a bronze statue of Henry Rowan, the school’s major benefactor.

The official uniform of many college students—jeans, flip-flops, sweats—won’t pass muster in the boardroom. It won’t even get you into the boardroom, says Ruben Britt, assistant director of Rowan University’s Career Management Center (CMC).

Prospective students will have the chance to learn more about Rowan University during open houses on Oct. 28 and Nov. 11.

Seventh- through eighth-graders and high school students across South Jersey can now apply to the Glassboro Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and Fine and Performing Arts Academies offered in the Glassboro School District. The academies offer tuition free opportunities for Rowan University courses. Partnerships between Glassboro School District and Rowan University, Let’s Dance Studio and George Kaiser School of Art will enable students to chart their educational future.

The focus will be on ability—rather than disability—as Rowan University’s Academic Success Center and Disability Resources mark Disability Awareness Week from Oct. 15-18.

Social worker Dan Cohen and filmmaker Michael Rossato-Bennett will present "Alive Inside: The Story of Music and Memory" at Rowan on Oct. 15.
