Beginning in Summer 2011, Rowan University’s College of Graduate and Continuing Education will offer a new Certificate of Graduate Studies in Sustainable Engineering to address a trend in the engineering industry, the need to introduce sustainable development concepts to students and working professionals. The curriculum for Rowan’s program requires 15 semester hours of study dispersed between five graduate-level online courses, the first of which is scheduled for the second session of the Summer 2011 semester, which begins July 5.

At Rowan University, Glassboro, 2,408 undergraduate students and 490 graduate students will take part in commencement ceremonies in May.

Anthony J. Jannetti, president and CEO of Pitman-based Anthony J. Jannetti, Inc., has contributed $50,000 to the Rowan University Foundation to establish an endowment to fund scholarships for students in the University’s RN-to-BSN program

Dr. Mark Stanwood, Executive County Superintendent of Schools for Gloucester County since 2003, will join the staff of the Educational Information and Resource Center (EIRC) effective July 19. In his new position, Stanwood will serve as director of the Division of Professional Development and Non-Credit Programs in the College of Graduate and Continuing Education at Rowan University, which is contracting with EIRC to mange those programs.  

Route 322, from Bowe Boulevard to Main Street in Glassboro, will close from 9 a.m. to 4  p.m. on Friday, May 14, for Rowan University's annual undergraduate Commencement ceremony.

Rowan University recently celebrated the first anniversary of an educational program it founded in conjunction with the University of Medicine and Dentistry that is helping South Jersey nurses expand their education and become better prepared for the medical world of tomorrow.

More than 100 educational professionals, advocates, parents and therapists from throughout South Jersey will come together for Rowan University's Inaugural Conference on Autism on Monday, March 15.

Rowan University will host a Graduate School Information Session on Saturday, September 12, at 10 a.m. in the auditorium of Rowan Hall, the College of Engineering building off Bowe Boulevard in Glassboro.

Rowan University will welcome its largest freshman class this year. Close to 1,700 freshmen have placed deposits with the Glassboro-based University, along with 1,022 transfer students.
