More than 100 rising seventh and eighth grade boys will learn about engineering from faculty, staff and students at Rowan University’s College of Engineering as part of the Boys’ Engineering, Science and Technology (BEST) Workshop on Tuesday, July 16, and Wednesday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Rowan Hall (the College of Engineering building off Bowe Boulevard in Glassboro).
About 130 middle school-aged girls from throughout South Jersey (and beyond) will converge at Rowan University for Attracting Women into Engineering (AWE) on Tuesday, July 23 through Thursday, July 25, from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Rowan Hall (the College of Engineering building off Bowe Boulevard in Glassboro).
Imoh Ikpot, a medical student at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, recently received a national award from Conquer Cancer Foundation and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) to further his interest in oncology research.  
More than 40 high school students from throughout the region (counties in New Jersey: Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Gloucester, Cumberland, Morris, Somerset and in Pennsylvania: Bucks) will learn to build bridges, explore wind power, study robotics and step into virtual reality, among many other opportunities, when they participate in Rowan's Introduction for Students to Engineering (RISE).

Freshman orientation gives students first taste of campus life.
During Rowan University’s 88th Commencement ceremony on May 17, not only was the sun shining brightly, so, too, was each of our more than 2,200 graduates. In addition to welcoming Commencement speaker N.J. State Senate President Steve Sweeney and honorary Doctors of Humanities recipients Larry Salva ’77 and his wife, Rita, we had the pleasure of honoring 2013’s Distinguished Alumnus recipient, Shaun “Shaun T” Thompson.
