Film director, Holocaust survivor to discuss documentary focusing on denial of safe harbor for Jewish refugees

Writer and director Robert Krakow, whose film, “Complicit: The Untold Story of Why the Roosevelt Administration Denied Safe Harbor to Jewish Refugees,” focuses on issues such as immigration, human rights, and refugee policies, will discuss the project on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. on Rowan University’s Main Campus in Glassboro.

The words no one wants to hear: “You have breast cancer.” Unfortunately, close to 300,000 American women are expected to receive that diagnosis each year. For many, their early reactions are fear, anger, and denial. Those feelings may escalate. Dealing with the psychological fallout of such a diagnosis can be crucial to patients’ physical recovery. As they weigh their medical options, patients also should consider their emotional and mental options.
National Center for Women & Information Technology awards grant to new computer science club at Rowan University

The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) has awarded the newly founded Association for Computing & Machinery-Women in Computer Science (ACM-W) club at Rowan University a $3,000 Student Seed Start-up Funding Award.

Rowan University geologist Harold C. Connolly, Jr. will discuss his work as the Mission Sample Scientist on NASA’s first mission to collect an asteroid sample and return it to Earth during a talk at the Edelman Planetarium at Rowan University on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

The Edelman Planetarium at Rowan University, Glassboro, is offering public shows on Sundays during the regular semester. All shows are 1 hour, which includes 30 minutes of stargazing on the University’s virtual sky and 30 minutes of immersive video on the dome screen.
