When he was an undergraduate at then-Glassboro State College back in the early 1960s, when he was looking for a quiet place to which to escape, to read or just to think, Tom Gallia would climb a ginkgo tree on the Bunce Green and perch on a branch, far from his classmates.

Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM brought home a national College Broadcasters Inc. (CBI) award in the category of “Best Documentary” for “Heroin High,” a piece focusing on the drug culture in South Jersey schools. The award was presented during CBI’s annual conference in San Antonio on Nov. 2.
