The Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University, Glassboro, will mark its 40th anniversary with 40 hours of academic, social and community activities starting in September.

Tuition and fees for students at Rowan University will increase by 3 percent under a $285.5 million fiscal year 2013 budget approved by the University's Board of Trustees earlier this month.

Rowan University has appointed Dr. Robert Beatty as the new dean of the Rohrer College of Business, effective July 1, 2012. Beatty comes to the university from his position of dean of the School of Global Commerce & Management at Whitworth University, in Spokane, Wash. He is succeeding Dr. Niranjan Pati, who is returning to the faculty.

On June 17, Rowan University will mark the 20th anniversary of the transformational $100 million gift that Burlington County businessman and philanthropist Henry Rowan and his late wife, Betty, pledged in 1992 to then-Glassboro State College (GSC).

More than 1,300 freshmen and their families are getting an up-close-and-personal introduction to Rowan during the University's annual orientation. They're being aided by close to 40 Rowan students who are members of the PROS (Peer Referral Orientation Specialists).
