Rowan University’s Rohrer College of Business is an outstanding business school, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company features the school in the new 2011 edition of its book, “The Best 300 Business Schools.”

From an innovation to cool heart tissue during a heart attack to an overview of current work by health care providers in Camden, Rowan University and Cooper University Hospital staffs are learning more about each other’s research, interests and commitments thanks to a series of Medical School Research Seminars

Rowan University launches its new “VenturePreneur in Residence” program in which outstanding entrepreneurs will lend their expertise to Rowan students by lecturing in selected courses, presenting in student forums, leading faculty discussions and mentoring and advising students on topics of creating new businesses during a week of residency.  The initial VenturePreneur is Dr. Richard Woodward.  

Robert C. Braun, senior vice president of PSEG Nuclear, Hancocks Bridge, is scheduled to lecture as part of the Rowan University College of Engineering’s Henry M. Rowan Speaker Series. Braun’s presentation, “Energy for Tomorrow: The Nuclear Renaissance,” is planned for Thursday, Oct. 28 at 1:45 p.m. in the Betty Long Lecture Hall in Rowan Hall. A question-and-answer session will follow.

The Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey (EFSNJ) is offering a series of programs aimed at updating local business people on social networking and related ways to communicate with existing customers and attract new ones.

Students at Rowan University are using their computer skills to help score goals on the soccer field. Computer science master’s degree students developed Soccer Scoop, a computer application that allows soccer coaches to take player evaluation into the Information Age.

The Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey (EFSNJ) in a joint effort with Pro Computer Service will present the “Young Entrepreneur of the Delaware Valley Award” during a cocktail reception on Thursday, Sept. 23, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Merion Caterers, Rt. 130, Cinnaminson.

Rowan Engineering students help fix problems virtually.

The Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University has named Dr. Steven Phelan as the William G. Rohrer Chair in Entrepreneurship effective Sept. 1.

Rowan University faculty and students have teamed with Pfizer Global Engineering and Manufacturing personnel to investigate green approaches to drug manufacture.  This is the second time Rowan has partnered with Pfizer to investigate methods to reduce the carbon footprint of pharmaceutical plant operations.
