Since the 1970s, the John Green Team House has served as the home for Rowan University’s athletic teams. Now, thanks to a $4.2 million renovation and expansion of the building on Carpenter Street, every team—and every student-athlete—has a space to call their own.

A generous gift from Susquehanna Bank has given Rowan University students a huge boost in their efforts to assist typhoon victims in the Philippines.

Bill Carrigan, chairman of Rowan University’s Department of History, will have the honor of delivering his hypothetical “Last Lecture” on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. in the Eynon Ballroom of the Chamberlain Student Center, 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro.

The Rowan Television Network, one of Rowan University’s largest student organizations, will broadcast the “Philippine Benefit Special: Typhoon Haiyan Relief” from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM brought home a national College Broadcasters Inc. (CBI) award in the category of “Best Documentary” for “Heroin High,” a piece focusing on the drug culture in South Jersey schools. The award was presented during CBI’s annual conference in San Antonio on Nov. 2.

Hanukkah is a relatively minor festival on the Jewish calendar. But that’s not so in the United States, where American Jews have transformed an almost forgotten celebration into the most visible of American Jewish holidays, according to Rowan University Religion Studies Professor Dianne Ashton.

Sophomore political science major Rebecca Roberts, who serves in the Air National Guard, has the heart of a hero—and a $5,000 scholarship to prove it.

During "CHSS Career Connections: Our Alumni Today," Rowan's College of Humanities & Social Sciences will join with the Career Management Center and the Office of Alumni Relations to present an evening in which Rowan liberal arts alumni will discuss how their humanities and social science studies prepared them for successful careers.

The Rowan University community will come together for a host of events to celebrate Veterans Week, Nov. 11-16.
