Board of Trustees member Frank Giordano will be appointed to the Advisory Committee on the Arts for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

Giordano, a Rowan board member since 2015, is president and CEO of The Philly POPS and president and CEO of Atlantic Trailer Leasing Company, his family’s business in Southampton Township.

The Kennedy Center’s Advisory Committee on the Arts is a national advisory board appointed by the President of the United States. Members are chosen for their knowledge of and experience in the arts. They act as ambassadors to their home states on behalf of the Kennedy Center and its national education and outreach programs. The committee also advises and consults with the Board of Trustees and makes recommendations regarding existing and prospective cultural activities.

“I’m honored and energized by this Presidential appointment,” Giordano said. “I look forward to serving on the esteemed Advisory Committee on the Arts to support the Kennedy Center and the arts community in New Jersey, Philadelphia and nationwide.”

Long committed to service, Giordano has held leadership roles on many non-profit boards and much of his effort has benefited underserved constituencies.

He was the 64th president of the Union League of Philadelphia and is a past chairman of Goodwill Industries of Southern N.J. and Philadelphia.

“Mr. Giordano is a true visionary and has been one of the key figures in a revival of the arts in Philadelphia,” Rowan President Ali Houshmand said. “Rowan University is fortunate to have him as a board member but we, as a region, are even more fortunate to have him serve on such an esteemed board.”

Giordano is a resident of Moorestown.
