Limited seats still are available for Attracting Women into Engineering (AWE), hosted by the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering at Rowan University from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 26 and 27 in the College of Engineering off Bowe Boulevard in Glassboro.

AWE is designed to introduce girls entering the 7th, 8th and 9th grades to the field of engineering. The days are educational and great fun, teaching students the technical basics in easily identifiable ways, such as making bottle rockets, studying robotic arms and exploring polymers, among other topics.

College of Engineering personnel and students will present engineering modules and instruct the girls. PSEG is an AWE sponsor. The workshops will focus on hands-on engineering laboratory experiments, professionalism and teamwork.

The cost for each one-day session is $50 and includes a pizza lunch. Deadline to apply is June 30. For more information, visit www.rowan.edu/awe or call Kathy Urbano at (856) 256-5309.
