Demonstrating support for survivors of sexual assault, members of the Rowan University community will gather for “Take Back the Night” on Tuesday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m. on the patio of the Chamberlain Student Center, 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m., community members will decorate fabric squares with messages of support for survivors of sexual assault. The messages, which will be on display, will be sewn into a quilt.

At 7 p.m., members of the Sexual Violence Prevention Task Force will officially open the event, followed by an open-mic session for anyone who would like to share their words of support.

Take Back the Night ends with a walk of support through campus beginning at approximately 8 p.m. Walkers will carry glow sticks to shed light on sexual assault awareness.

More than a dozen student organizations – from sororities and fraternities to Student University Programmers -- will provide informational tables at the event showcasing how they stand up against sexual violence.

The event is sponsored by Healthy Campus Initiatives and the Sexual Violence Prevention Task Force.
