Children of all ages will venture to a galaxy far, far away on Friday, March 31, during “Literacy Alive”, a Star Wars-themed literacy event sponsored by Kappa Delta Pi, Rowan University’s education honor society.

From 6 – 8 p.m., children will visit the third floor of James Hall, where they’ll go on a free space- themed educational adventure, courtesy of Rowan students.

The young space cadets will travel from room to room, star to star, and spaceship to android as they enrich themselves in the subjects of reading, writing, math, science and physical education. Each room will have its own theme. Kids will have a chance to enjoy Jedi training and have fun in a replica of the Death Star, Darth Vader’s famous spaceship and command center.

Kids will take photos with their favorite Star Wars character and, at the end of the night, they will bring a book home to commemorate their journey.
