Through April 12, Rowan University business students are offering assistance with federal and state income tax preparation through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA).

Students are meeting with community members that qualify for the free program in the lobby of Rowan University’s Business Hall, 271 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro.

The VITA program generally offers tax return preparation and e-filing to people who earn $54,000 or less annually.

Excluding the week of March 12-18, students will offer assistance the following days and times: Tuesdays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; Wednesdays, 4-8 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 25, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; and Saturday, April 8, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. No appointments are necessary. Walk-ins will be assisted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Those who are interested in receiving assistance are asked to bring their prior year federal and state income tax return, a photo ID, as well as the Social Security cards for all people on their tax returns.

The VITA program, which has been offered at Rowan for 37 years, is presented in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service.

Parking is available through the Welcome Gate off Route 322.
