Rowan announces inaugural Excellence in Diversity awards
The Rowan University Senate Diversity Committee on Wednesday announced the winners of Rowan's inaugural Senate Excellence in Diversity Awards.
In acknowledging these special students, faculty and staff – examples of a responsive and responsible university committed to social justice and diversity – Rowan seeks to inspire others to pursue similar goals in academic and personal achievement.
An awards program will be held from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. Friday on the Chamberlain Student Center Patio as we celebrate Rowan’s inaugural Excellence in Diversity recipients for making Rowan more inclusive and welcoming to all.
To be honored at the noontime reception will be:
Robin Uverhau, English as a Second Language teaching, Certificate of Graduate Study: Excellence in Diversity Award for Student Scholarship
Jean Collado, Health and Exercise Science: Excellence in Diversity Award for Student Activism
Jessica J. Brown, President of Atomik Legacy Dance Troupe: Excellence in Diversity Award for Performance by a student or student group
Paula Watkins, Director of Admissions and Enrollment Services, RowanSOM:
Excellence in Diversity Award for Scholarship by faculty or staff
Paule Turner, Department of Theater and Dance: Excellence in Diversity Award for Performance by faculty or staff
Ned Eckhardt, lead associated faculty of PACT 5, a nationwide anti-sexual assault film project, Department of Radio/TV/Film: Excellence in Diversity Award for a Group Project by faculty or staff.
