Come help build the bond between Special Olympics athletes and Rowan University students  as Rowan’s Rec Center hosts the third annual “Miles for Medals” 5K and one-mile fun run on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. on the Glassboro campus.

The event benefits Special Olympics Athletes of New Jersey involved in the Rowan Unified Sports Club. Through Unified Sports, Rowan students compete side-by-side with Special Olympics athletes in soccer and basketball. The group promotes inclusion for all athletes.

“Miles for Medals” participants can register for the race at the Rec Center in advance or in person up to 30 minutes before the start of the race. Registration is $20. The race, which winds through Rowan’s campus, is open to the Rowan community and the general public. The event will include four different divisions: Men's Student, Men's Non-Student, Women's Student, and Women's Non-Student.
