Re-accreditation assessment team for Rowan Public Safety invites public comments

A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), will arrive on Rowan University's campus on Sunday, Nov. 17,  to examine all aspects of the University's Public Safety policy and procedures, management, operations and support services, Senior Director Reed Layton has announced.

(CALEA), will arrive on Rowan University's campus on Sunday, Nov. 17,  to examine all aspects of the University's Public Safety policy and procedures, management, operations and support services, Senior Director Reed Layton has announced.

Verification by the team that Rowan University Public Safety meets the commission’s state-of-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation, a highly prized recognition of public safety professional excellence, he said.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments to the assessment team. They may do so by telephone or email. The public call in session is on Monday, Nov. 18, from 1-3 p.m. Callers should use the following number: 856-256-5501. Email comments also can be sent to laytonr@rowan.edu.

Additionally, an open public information session is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 18, at 5 p.m. in Savitz Hall, Mullica Hill Road, on the Glassboro campus.
