Rowan hosts programs for future physicians
The Rowan University Office of Health Professions in the College of Science & Mathematics will host Tour for Diversity in Medicine on Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom, Rt. 322, Glassboro.
Sponsored by the Aetna Foundation and the U.S. Army, the Tour for Diversity in Medicine is a project conceived by former medical student leaders to bring premedical enrichment activities to underrepresented minority students in order to assist in addressing the recognized need for diversity in the health professions workforce.
The daylong conference will offer information for all undergraduate and post-bac students, recent alumni and high school seniors interested in becoming a doctor or dentist, including details on what it takes to get into medical and dental school. There is no cost for the event, which includes lunch for student participants.
