Rowan hosts fourth annual breast cancer walk/run

More than 250 people are expected to participate in Rowan University’s fourth annual four-mile breast cancer walk/run to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Central and South Jersey affiliate on Saturday, April 27, starting at 10 a.m., adjacent to the Rec Center off Carpenter Street in Glassboro.

More than 250 people are expected to participate in Rowan University’s fourth annual four-mile breast cancer walk/run to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Central and South Jersey affiliate on Saturday, April 27, starting at 10 a.m., adjacent to the Rec Center off Carpenter Street in Glassboro.

The four-mile walk/run raises money for the Central and South Jersey affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® to fight breast cancer. It is sponsored by the Rowan Rec Center.
 
In 2012, 56 people walked/ran and raised $2,000.
In 2011, 105 people walked/ran and raised $3,000.
The first year, 125 people participated and raised $3,500.

Participants may register that day starting at 9 a.m.
 
(This tends to be very visual and very “vocal.” It’s a determined, almost celebratory bunch that will include survivors.)
