The third floor of Rowan University’s James Hall will be transformed into a winter wonderland on Friday, Dec. 7, as students in Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), the international honor society in education, present their “Frosty’s Winter Wonderland” Pajama Party for community children.

The event is the third annual holiday pajama party for the Eta Psi chapter of KDP.

“The past two years we have had about 125 local children attend.  It’s usually a pretty great turnout,” said Becky Grochowicz, a member of KDP’s executive board.

The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and is free to local children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Rowan students will lead children in crafts and games inspired by “Frosty the Snowman,” the popular children’s story.  No advance registration is necessary and children are encouraged to wear their pajamas to the party.

The party will include a reading of Frosty the Snowman and a showing of the classic cartoon.  Children also will write letters to Santa that will be distributed by Macy’s. For every letter written, Macy’s will make a donation to the Make a Wish Foundation.

The evening will conclude with a special visit from Santa Claus.
