Rowan University has been recognized for its commitment to providing supportive environments for students serving in the military.

The University was named to the “2013 Military Friendly Schools” list. Compiled by Victory Media, the list honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students, ensuring their success on campus, according to Sean Collins, vice president at Victory Media and director for G.I. Jobs, a magazine published by the media company.

Rowan is one of 1,739 schools nationwide named to the list. The University will be included in the annual G.I. Jobs Guide to Military Friendly Schools, which will be distributed in print and digital format next month.

Schools on the list were recognized for their excellence in the recruitment and retention of students with military experience. The schools, Collins said, exhibit top-notch programs and policies for student support on campus, academic accreditation, credit policies, flexibility and other services to those who served in the military.
