Here they come: 1,400 freshmen to move in at Rowan U on Sept. 3
The Rowan community once again will be heavily involved in this annual rite of passage, with administrators, faculty and staff from Residential Learning and University Housing, Facilities Management and Public Safety departments assisting. Numerous upperclassmen, including representatives of Greek and other organizations, will volunteer for the day, assisting freshman and their families and friends as they unload and move in the new students’ belongings.
According to the Office of Admissions, the University has received deposits from 1,687 freshmen this year. Firm statistics on the exact size of the Class of 2015 (known as 10th day statistics) will be available in early September.
(Upperclassmen will move in on Sunday, Sept. 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. About half of the students living on Rowan Boulevard will move in on Monday, Sept. 5. Classes start Tuesday, Sept. 6. Move-in and classes were delayed for a week due to Hurricane Irene.)
Move-in day will kick off a number of events designed to get freshmen acclimated to University life during Welcome Weekend. For more on Welcome Weekend, visit: http://www.rowan.edu/studentaffairs/main_office/welcome/
