Rowan to welcome poet CAConrad

Poet CAConrad, winner of the 2009 Gil Ott Book Award, will read from his works on Monday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Rowan Art Gallery at Rowan University, 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro, N.J. 

Poet CAConrad, winner of the 2009 Gil Ott Book Award, will read from his works on Monday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Rowan Art Gallery at Rowan University, 201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro, N.J.

The reading is free and open to the public.

Conrad received the Gil Ott Book Award for The Book of Frank (Chax Press). The award honors the legacy of Ott, a poet, publisher and social activist.

Conrad also is the author of Advanced Elvis Course (Soft Skull Press, 2009), (Soma)tic Midge (Faux Press, 2008), Deviant Propulsion (Soft Skull Press, 2006), and collaboration with poet Frank Sherlock titled The City Real & Imagined (Factory School, 2010).

Conrad, who teaches (Soma)tic Poetry Workshops, has performed at universities and other venues nationwide, including the St. Marks Poetry Project in New York City.
