Rowan to host Career Exploration Fair in Camden

Representatives from more than 20 agencies will provide information at the first-ever Career Exploration Fair for the areas of Law & Justice Studies and sociology on Wednesday, March 3, from 2-6 p.m. at the Camden County Conference Center, 601 Cooper St.

Representatives from more than 20 agencies will provide information at the first-ever Career Exploration Fair for the areas of Law & Justice Studies and sociology on Wednesday, March 3, from 2-6 p.m. at the Camden County Conference Center, 601 Cooper St.

Presented by Rowan University at Camden and the University's Career and Academic Planning (CAP) Center, the Career Exploration Fair is free and open to the public.

Agencies including the New Jersey State Police, the Center for Family Services, the New Jersey Juvenile Justice Commission, the Census Bureau, the New Jersey Department of Labor, U.S. Federal District Court, and the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, among others, will be on hand to answer questions about employment opportunities from 3:20-6 p.m.

Additionally, the fair will include panelists who will discuss their career paths in the fields of Law & Justice Studies and sociology. The panel discussion will begin at 2:15 p.m.

Participants will include: Mary K. Baker of the Office of Victim/Witness Advocacy at the Camden County Prosecutor's Office; Gina N. Lemanowicz, civil investigator for the state's Division of Criminal Justice; Kirk Eleazer, special agent for the New Jersey Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration; Lt. Jonathan Fernee of the State Police's Research and Development Unit; and Sheree Johnson, director of civil rights for the United States Department of Agriculture's Forest Service.

Camden Mayor Dana L. Redd will offer remarks at the Career Exploration Fair, as will a number of Rowan representatives, including Tyrone McCombs, assistant provost and dean of Rowan at Camden.

For members of the Main Campus community who wish to attend the Career Exploration Fair, a Rowan bus will leave for Camden from the Robinson Hall circle at 1:30 and 3 p.m.
