Political cartoonist to discuss global image of America

Award-winning political cartoonist Joe Szabo will discuss "The Image of America in Political Cartoons" on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 10:50 a.m.-12:05 p.m. in the auditorium of Rowan Hall at Rowan University.

Award-winning political cartoonist Joe Szabo will discuss "The Image of America in Political Cartoons" on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 10:50 a.m.-12:05 p.m. in the auditorium of Rowan Hall at Rowan University.

The Hungarian-born Szabo is best known for creating and publishing "WittyWorld International Cartoon Magazine," which presents  and discusses the finest international political cartoons. Szabo, who now lives in North Wales, Pa., specializes in analyzing, through cartoons, the way that America is perceived by the world.

Szabo, whose work has appeared locally, nationally and internationally--from the Philadelphia Inquirer to the Washington Post to Le Monde--is president of WittyWorld International Cartoon Center and WittyWorld International Features Syndicate (www.wittyworld.com).

Szabo's talk is part of Rowan's celebration of International Education 2008, which is sponsored by the International Center, International Studies, International Student Services, the International Honor Society Phi Beta Delta, the Senate World Education Council and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
