About a dozen Rowan University student semi-finalists will pitch their ideas before a panel of business judges in the final round of the Rowan Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO) Elevator Pitch Competition on Friday, September 26, at 12:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Rowan Hall, the College of Engineering building on Rowan's Glassboro campus.

Entrepreneur majors at Rowan University will compete in an attention-grabbing contest to pitch their product, service and project ideas in the fast-paced elevator fashion for a chance to compete at the national CEO conference in Chicago.

An elevator-pitching contest requires participants to create an idea and sell it in the time frame of a typical two-minute elevator ride.

After reviewing the 300-word written proposals, Rowan faculty selected 20 semi-finalists to verbally present their plans, using only one prop, to a panel of business professionals and address their questions. The panel of judges includes:

-- Brian W. Jones, senior vice president and chief lending officer of Newfield Bank and Rowan Rohrer College of Business alumnus
-- Stephen M. Kozachyn, adjunct faculty at New Venture, senior director of new product development of Masco Bathing Systems and  Rowan Rohrer College of Business MBA alumnus
-- Dorothy Stubblebine, managing principal of DJS Associates, Inc. and Rowan Rohrer College of Business alumna
-- Randi Woerner, director of Glassboro Economic Development

The first-, second- and third-place winners will receive a trip to Chicago to compete in the National CEO Elevator-Pitching Contest for cash prizes ranging from $500 to $2,500. Fourth-, fifth- and sixth-place winners will receive a free membership to CEO.
