Three businesses led by Rowan University alumni are among the Philadelphia Business Journal's 25 fastest-growing companies in South Jersey.

Known as the South Jersey 25, the rankings were set by researchers in Rowan's Rohrer College of Business who examined companies' percentage of revenue growth from 2004-2006.

SolarWorks New Jersey of Turnersville, which installs grid-connected solar electric systems in homes, was named the top-ranked fastest-growing South Jersey company. The company is owned by Stephen Masapollo, a 1973 alumnus in communication.

Additionally, Pro Computer Service of Medford, a computer consulting firm founded in 2002 by Anthony Mongeluzo of Medford, was ranked fourth. Mongeluzo earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and Management Information Systems from Rowan in 2002.

McCloskey Mechanical Contractors Inc. of Lindenwold was ranked 10th. David J. McCloskey Jr. of Laurel Springs, the company's vice president, earned his degree in business administration and management from Rowan in 2004.

The South Jersey 25 were recognized at the 12th annual South Jersey 25 Awards Luncheon held recently at the Collingswood Grand Ballroom.

Rowan's Rohrer College of Business has been ranked as one of the top undergraduate universities for entrepreneurship in the nation. Rowan ranks 17th in a survey of more than 700 schools conducted by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine.
