Colleges Host Women in Higher Education Conference
The Women?s Professional Networks of Rowan University, Salem Community College and Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will hold the Second Southern New Jersey Regional Spring Conference for Women
The Women?s Professional Networks of Rowan University, Salem Community College and Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will hold the Second Southern New Jersey Regional Spring Conference for Women in Higher Education on Tuesday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Eynon Ballroom in the Student Center at Rowan University.
"Building Personal and Community Capacity," designed to help women advance in higher education, will provide opportunities for networking, learning how to overcome the challenges and enjoy the benefits of diversity and discovering techniques for achieving maximum health and managing stress. The conference is open to all women in higher education in South Jersey.
The day will include:
8:30 a.m. Continental breakfast
9 a.m. Welcome by Rowan First Lady Maia Farish followed by a keynote
presentation by Theresa DiVietro, Glassboro businesswoman and community activist
10 a.m. to noon Sessions on ?Building Capacity Through Diversity? and ?Building Capacity Through Wellness and Self-Management?
1 p.m. Stress relievers (optional)
DiVietro, of Glassboro-based businesses Land Dimensions and Innovasion, will present ?Building Personal Capacity Through Community Involvement.? In addition to being a businesswoman and entrepreneur, DiVietro is active in New Life Fellowship Church, serves as secretary of the Glassboro Economic Development Corporation/Main Street Board and is a member of boards of the Boys and Girls Club of Gloucester County and the United Way of Gloucester County. She is co-chair of Happening on High Street, the major fundraising event for the Boys and Girls Club, and a facilitator of the Glassboro Arts Alliance, among numerous other activities.
