On Monday, March 21, Rowan University students, faculty and staff will celebrate the reopening of ?The Marketplace,? the university?s newly renovated main student dining hall. Rather than the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony, university officials will mark the occasion with a ?pizza cutting? featuring a giant, six-foot pizza with toppings spelling out ?ROWAN.? Rowan President Dr. Donald Farish and representatives from Rowan?s food service contractor, Sodexho, will slice the pie.

A yearlong renovation has transformed the main dining hall into a feast for the senses. Students will enjoy an aesthetically pleasing dining experience designed to cater to the dietary and lifestyle needs of busy co-eds. The Marketplace features new menu offerings served at six separate food stations:

? Chef?s Table ? an open Euro-style kitchen featuring ?home-style? entrees

? Su Pane ? deli/bakery featuring rotisserie items and fresh, creative sandwiches on fresh baked bread

? 360 Degrees ? ?Mongolian wok? station creating ?world? cuisine and vegetarian entrees at your request right before your eyes

? Il Forno ? pizza and pasta station

? Grill Central ? featuring traditional favorites served hot of the grill

? Insalata ? featuring a variety of soup, salad, vegetable and fruit choices

The renovated dining venue also features:

? Seating for 700 (more than double the old facility) with a variety of seating options?counter and high tables for solitary diners, booths and smaller tables seating 3-4 people and elliptical and round tables for larger groups of 8-10 people.

? New dishware in vibrant colors complementing The Marketplace d?cor. No more trays.

? WI-FI ?Hot Zone? ? wireless computer access to an 802.11 network with access points for any wireless card user throughout the space

? Remodeled and refitted kitchen for efficient service to all food venues and catering services
