Results of the 2001 Annual High School Mathematics Examination (AHSME) for New Jersey are in ? and local high school students received some of the highest scores. According to Rowan University Professor Dr. Evelyn Weinstock, coordinator for the examination, 8,405 students from 150 high schools and academies throughout the state participated in this year?s exam.

Each year the AHSME is sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America, Society of Actuaries, Mu Alpha Theta, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Casualty Actuarial Society, American Statistical Association, American Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges and American Mathematics Society. The exam is sponsored regionally by the Mathematics Department at Rowan University.
