Glassboro-Andrew Pitman, of Wallingford, PA, a senior computer science
student at Rowan University, is already an accomplished expert in his
field.

Besides being the author of <+>Egrep-Finger,<+> a popular program for the
Linux operating system, Pitman has done pioneering work on the Beowulf
Project at NASA?s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.

The Beowulf project strives to link individual personal computers
together so they can achieve the power usually obtainable only by
<+>supercomputers.<+> After completing his work, Pitman presented a talk on
it at the recent Atlanta Linux Showcase, a forum where experts present
and discuss technical innovations using the Linux operating system.

<+>These achievements easily put Andrew in the top one percent of all
computer science undergraduates in the country,<+> said Ganesh Baliga,
professor of computer science at Rowan University.
