Rowan University Professor Receives Woman of Influence Award

Glassboro - Providence House, a program of Catholic Charities of the
Diocese of Trenton, presented Pilesgrove resident Linda R. Jeffrey,
Ph.D., of Rowan University, with a Fourth Annual Woman of Influence
Award.

Jeffrey, a professor of psychology at Rowan University for 27 years, is
also a licensed psychologist. She directs the Rowan Center for Addiction
Studies and has developed undergraduate and graduate courses in
alcohol and drug abuse treatment and prevention topics. Jeffrey has
served as a member of the New Jersey Statewide Domestic Violence
Working Group, New Jersey Governor?s Council on Alcoholism and Drug
Abuse and the Council of Academic Advisors to the New Jersey
Legislature. Jeffrey is an evaluator for the Providence House program
<+>Peace: A Learned Solution<+> which provides intensive intervention
services for children exposed to domestic violence.

The Woman of Influence awards recognize the contribution women have
made to ending the cycle of violence in the home, acknowledging those
whose support has been vital to Providence House?s provision of
life-saving services.

Providence House presented the award in March at a ceremony in Mt.
Laurel.
