Religion Department, the Liberal Studies Program at Rowan University will
host Picturing Faith,

Glassboro-The Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Philosophy and
Religion Department, the Liberal Studies Program at Rowan University will
host <+>Picturing Faith,<+> a presentation of and lecture on photographs of
religion in America taken during the Depression on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000,
from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Pfleeger Concert Hall in Wilson Hall.

Dr. Colleen McDannell, a history professor at the University of Utah, and
author of <+>Picturing Faith: Religious America in Government Photography
1935-1943<+> will present the lecture. The featured photographs were
taken by the Farm Services Administration and reflect a broad range of
religious life during a pivotal period in this country's history. McDannell's
lecture is being funded by a grant from the New Jersey Council for the
Humanities.
