Rowan students seek internships at Disney

GLASSBORO -- The importance of gaining experience prior to entering the job market is clear to most college students today, that's why Rowan University junior Jamie Perian enlisted in a chance to intern for the summer at one of America's prime resorts -- Walt Disney World in Florida.

Perian, 20, of Gibbstown, said the chance to job shadow an animator for a few months between semesters can only help her in the future.

''I think the chance would be great,'' said Perian, who joined about 30 other students from area colleges for the one hour presentation about the program.

For the past 21 years since the Walt Disney College program first began, more than 42,000 college students have interned in Florida, said Walt Disney College Recruiter Michael Bugno. Each year, 300 colleges and universities play host to the presentation.
