On Saturday, October 14, 2017, the Department of Physics & Astronomy will host a SUN Day on Saturday at the College of Science and Mathematics Tent on Homecoming Row between Bowe Blvd. and Carpenter St. from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Rowan's Astronomers and the student-run Rowan Astronomy Club invite the university community and the general public to stop by and get an up-close look at the nearest star to Earth—our Sun. View the Sun’s photosphere and sunspots safely though telescopes fitted with special solar filters. See solar prominences through a telescope fitted with a specialized hydrogen alpha (H-α) filter. See an enlarged image of the Sun projected onto the screen of the “Sun Funnel.”

This is a free and safe solar viewing event for all ages.
